If At First You Don't Succeed, Impeach

I have been noticing a lot of similarities lately between Democrats and a two year old child that doesn't get its' way. Seems they are oblivious to the fact they haven't controlled our government for 5 years in the White House and since the mid nineties in congress. Americans have spoken in election after election that Democrats need to actually supply an answer to the problems of the nation, not just complain about what the Republicans are doing.

Enter John Kerry.

Still disillusioned about the fact that a majority of the United States didn't want him as our President, Kerry now believes we should discuss the possibility of impeaching President Bush. He holds the Downing Street memos as his sole piece of evidence. The Downing Street memos? Are you kidding me? There isn't a single quote attributed to Bush and the memos are one man's interruption of the "minutes" of a meeting.

This is not how politics should run. Unfortunately, this blog don't not exist when California held its' recall of then Governor Gray Davis. I believe, unless there is a strong case of ethics violations or breaking the law, our elected officials should not have to worry about being thrown out of office simply because the press and the American public have changed their minds. The President gets four year, Senators get 6 years, and House Representatives get two years in office. If, you the voter, have a hangover after an election your job during the next election is to be better informed and cast a better vote.

I find John Kerry's comments to be a prime example of why he is so bad for America and our political system. Our elected officials needs to be able to govern without having to pick up a daily newspaper and check the opinion polls. Of course, to a Democrat who governs and forms their morals and ideals on public opinion this must be a tough concept to grasp.

Put simply, what will Kerry's impeachment proceedings bring? More outrage from the right? Bush would already be into his second year by the time congress could even start to hear an impeachment case. So, even if congress impeaches Bush, the Democrats would only shave a year or two off Bush's term. Believe me, if the liberals were surprised by the turnout during the 2004 elections, watch what happens if you remove Bush. You have to wonder if the DNC is getting ready to muzzle Kerry.

Lets see if I have the rhetoric the Democrats in the last few months summed up correctly...
  • The Irag War is a lost cause, but we believe the troops are doing a great job.
  • We should impeach the President.

Solutions? Any solutions from the left? Or is all we get is the kicking, fussing and crying? Let me make one thing clear, I am not changing Kerry's diaper. That is Kennedy job.
