Violation Type:
Willful termination of a safety procedures known as the Patriot Act. Jeopardizing the safety of an entire nation.

Supervisor's Statement:
The US Senate will be put on notice that the safety of the entire nation will be compromised on December 31, 2005 as they voted to allow the Patriot Act to expire. The Senate is reminded it is highly irresponsible to kill policies that have kept America safe since September 11 and not offer a better alternative.

Employee Statements:
Sen. John Sununu a New Hampshire Republican, stood by his opposition, saying, "In my state, I think there's pretty strong support for protecting civil liberties during times of war and peace."

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, said, "In my view, and in the view of many of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, the conference report still does not contain enough checks on the expanded powers."

Action To Be Taken:
The Senate is put on notice they have 15 days to rectify the Patriot Act or risk putting the entire nation in eminant danger of further terrorist's attacks. If after December 31, 2005 the Senate is unable to compromise on the Patriot Act, the American citizens will move for dismissal and termination of certain Senators.
